Darwin Australia
Darwin, the most remote city in Australia is located right at the very top of 'The Top End' and is the only true tropical capital city in Australia. The city was destroyed by heavy bombing in World War II and devastated again by the infamous tropical cyclone Tracy in 1974. However, the city has been rebuilt bigger and better than ever before.
Darwin Australia attracts substantial numbers of tourists as it is a fascinating city with a beautiful harbour, marina complexes, a diverse character and quite like no other place in the world. The city has many miles of unpolluted beaches, including the Casuarina Beach and well renowned Mindil Beach, home of the Mindil Beach markets. It is a perfect base to explore the top of the Northern Territory and the Kakadu National Park in particular. While you are visiting the Northern Territory, don't forget to plan to take a look at Australia's famous Uluru, the aboriginal name for Ayers Rock.
